The Bar Association 'Dictatura Zakona' hosted a session titled 'Legal Aspects of Ensuring Corporate Business Security' at the St Petersburg International Legal Forum.

🔵 Moderator: Dmitry Stasyulis, Head of Litigation and Arbitration Practice at 'Dictatura Zakona' and President of IOEC.

Experts discussed:
🔹 Protection of businesses at the international level under sanctions
🔹 Prevention of external threats to tangible and intangible assets
🔹 Protection of trademark and intellectual property rights
🔹 Mechanisms for protecting the rights of business partners and shareholders
🔹 Use of polygraph testing as a tool for corporate security

➡️ State Duma Deputy Maria Butina stressed the importance of protecting Russian companies amid the return of foreign businesses to Russia. In her view, local businesses must be given priority:
"The Ministry of Economic Development proposes that when assessing whether to re-admit a previously withdrawn company to the Russian market, the government should consider the volume of investment made by Russian businesses in the same industry. These companies must be given time to recoup their investments and earn a fair return," said Maria Butina.

➡️ Honoured Lawyer of Russia and Head of Criminal Law Practice at 'Dictatura Zakona’, Lyudmila Podosinnikova, emphasised the importance of properly drafting local corporate legal documents:
"In the context of corporate security, internal regulations define the standards and requirements for the protection of information and assets. They also outline employee procedures in the event of incidents," explained Lyudmila Podosinnikova.

➡️ Grigory Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office, reported a 30% increase in intellectual property registrations by Russian applicants in 2024 compared to 2023:
"Russia’s exports to friendly countries are growing. These countries act as gateways for global goods. With one application, one fee, and one patent attorney, protection is granted across eight countries in our region. The demand for this system is evident," said Ivliev.
